Gaiamancy
Even a wounded world nourishes us.
Even a wounded world sustains us,
giving us moments of wonder and joy.
I choose this joy, not despair.
Not because I bury my head in the sand,
but because the Earth gives me joy every day,
and it is my duty to give something back.
Robin Wall Kimmerer
There is a language older and deeper than words. In it, the Earth speaks to us. In the worldview of our ancestors, the Earth was experienced as Gaia, as a living and sacred being. Understanding its language teaches us to live in harmony with nature and ourselves.
This orally transmitted European wisdom is thousands of years old, was almost lost, and is now taught in its traditional form by only a few. It is precious and helpful in our time of alienation from nature and its destruction. It takes us on an exciting journey to the all-connecting cycles of life.
Gaiamancy allows us to read, understand, and heal the landscape. It fosters connection and trust in life.
For about 20 years, I have been intensively engaged with Gaiamancy and share this knowledge in seminars. Gaiamancy has given me a deep connection to the land and to life itself.
In my book, "The Secret of Your Place," I describe how this knowledge can help you reconnect with your own place and listen to the language of nature.
